Lebanon I-44 season opener attracts Texas drivers in $1200 to win Pro Late Model opener

By Ronnie Williams (Lebanon, MO) -- Lebanon's I-44 Speedway $1200 to win Pro Late Model Season Opener on Saturday April 29th has attracted 2 Texas Late Model Drivers as David Lewis and Gabriel Fogg have filed entries for the 50 lap feature.

Daniel Lewis began racing in 1992 in the GT3 road racing series with multiple wins and regional championships. Moved to Pro Late Models in 2015 and finished 2nd in points in the Pro Late Model Division at Central Texas Speedway in 2016. Currently racing Pro Late Models and Super Late Models.

Gabriel Fogg began racing quarter midgets in 2007 with multiple wins and track championships. Moved to racing in the Legacy division in 2014 and finished 2nd in points in the 2016 season. Began racing Pro Late Models in 2016, and currently racing Pro Late Models and Super Late Models.

Other expected entries include 2014 I-44 Speedway Champion Kaleb Allison of Mexico, Mo. Allison is the youngest Late Model Champion in I-44 Speedway history at the age of 15, Kansas City Veteran and hard Charger Joe Ross of Independance, Jake Griffin of Quincy, ILL. Griffin was the early season points leader in 2016 and competed in several NASCAR Campion World Truck Races in 2016.

Other expected enrries include 2016 I-44 Champion Brian Brown of Strafford, Points runner-up Steve Holt, 2-time I-44 Pro Champion Mike Slone of Rolla, 5 time I-44 Track Champion Tim Swearengin of Springfield. Swearengin is the defending Modified Champion of 2015-2016 and a past 3 time Late Model Champion at The "High-Banks". Cuba veteran charger Terry Limberopoulos, Jamming Jimmy Van Zandt of Springfield and the newest addition to the Kansas City Racing Hall Of Fame Ronnie" The Raytown Rocket" Hartford, 2016 Sportsman Champion Jimmy Fohn of Eldridge and Jake Piel of St. Louis in his former Sterling Marlin Pro Late Model and many more. Action will also include full shows for the Ground-Pounding Modifieds, Street Stocks and Chargers.

Grandstand gates will open at 6PM with time trials for the Modifieds and Pro Late Models at approx. 6:30 with Racing to start at 7:30. Fans bringing a 20 Coke Bottle product will recieve a $2,00 discount in both Grandstands and The "Wildside" Tier parking at Missouri's only NASCAR sanctioned and active Asphalt oval.
