Lebanon I-44 Speedway to Honor Larry Phillips with Independence Day Special

This Wednesday night, July 3rd, Lebanon I-44 Speedway will honor the United States as well as the late Larry Phillips with an exciting Independence Day special, the Independent Stave Salute to 75! All 4 weekly classes will be in attendance, as well as the star-studded field of the Ozark’s Asphalt Late Model Series who will be running a 75-lap feature for $2,000 to win. On top of the 75 lap Late Model special, there will be a 30-lap special on the inner track for the Hornet class, the Blue Collar Dirty 30. This race will pay $1,000 to win with no entry fee! On top of all the exciting racing action, Federal Protection will be giving away a security system worth $2,000, KOLR 10 will be giving away a set of four Springfield Cardinals baseball tickets, Gary’s Fireworks will be giving away a firework kit worth $500, and drivers will be giving away over 12 bicycles! Tommy Files will be on hand giving helicopter rides starting at $35 from 3:30PM to 8:00PM. Dawson Hollow will be on hand with live music from the newly re-opened fan deck with beer on tap! Also, you won’t want to miss the huge Firework Extravaganza following the races!
Each class has exciting Championship battles shaping up as we approach the halfway point of the season. Chris Albright holds a one-point lead over his brother, Jeffery Albright, in the Hornet class. Chris is still winless on the season, but consistency has payed off. In the Street Stock division, Matt Pilant has made his return after a several year hiatus and has picked up where he left off. Pilant has two wins so far this season and is leading the Championship over last year’s Rookie of the Year, Trevor Icenhower, by 6 points. Icenhower is also having a solid season with one win as he is looking to track down Pilant and steal the points lead. So far this season in the Big 10 Late Model division, there has been three races and three different winners. Ken Dickinson picked up the first win. Last year’s Champion, Jimmy Fohn picked up the win on night two, and Justin Blake picked up the win on night three. Blake has been the most consistent of the three and is holding a two-point lead over Fohn in the Championship standings. Richard Lewis has kicked off the season strong in the Modified division. Lewis has won two of the three races this season and is holding a 24-point lead over Michael Juergenson, and a 26-point lead over Chris Johnson. Finally, in the Ozark’s Asphalt Late Model Series Tony Jackson Jr. and his return to asphalt racing is going as planned. Jackson Jr. has won two of the three features so far this season and maintains a 24-point lead over Cole Williams and Tim Swearengin who are tied for second. Williams won the last feature at Lebanon I-44 Speedway and is entering the Salute to 75 as the defending winner.
A huge night is in store and we hope to see all of you at the races! The gates will open at 3:00pm and racing will start at 7:30pm and don’t forget about the fireworks after the show! Adult grandstand tickets are only $10 and adult tier parking tickets are just $15. Kids 12 & under are always free as well as special pricing for seniors, juniors, and veterans.
